How many photos will I get in my wedding package?
Short answer LOTS! I don’t have a specified minimum or maximum number of photos I take or share. My approach to photography is that I am there to capture the moment, event, or day and so I work hard to find the photos that reflects just that! Typically the longer I am photographing an event the more photos I will provide. And while I don’t provide every photo I take, I do make sure that you have a substantial selection to choose from. Sometimes small differences in photos can make a world of difference to the viewer and so I like to leave in more than less.
Do you bring a second photographer with you?
Great Question! This depends. Wedding packages always have the option to add on a second photographer for an additional charge. Second photographers are recommended or may even be required for larger weddings so that your day can best be captured. A second photographer allows for more of the moments to be captured at any given time. For example if the couple has elected to get ready at different locations, if there is a cocktail hour at the same time as couple or family photos or if you are looking for more variety in angles during important moments (ceremony, speeches, dances, cake cutting) a second photographer is an amazing add on to really elevate your coverage. To book a second photographer please give me ample time to find one who is skilled and available for your date.
Do you provide the RAW (unedited) images?
I do not. Capturing the images in only half of what you are hiring me for and I never like to leave a job unfinished. My artistic eye is at play both when I am taking photographs but also when I am choosing which images to edit and how each images is edited. I will save you from having to sort through thousands of photos! I do all of my own editing to bring the story of your day to life.
Do you deliver black and white images?
I do! Black and white images can be some of the most powerful, I could never leave them out. I currently provide the entirety of my galleries in both color and black and white.
When will I get my photos?
I know the wait can be killer so I aim to get your photos back quickly. Your photos will be available 4-6 weeks after your big day, quicker for individual sessions. I aim to make this process as quick as possible while still taking time to make sure I am providing you with the best selection of photos taken and that the editing is beautiful and reflective of your day. I also provide sneak peaks within 1-2 weeks for weddings because who doesn’t want to soft launch their nuptials!
Do you do posed photos for weddings?
Absolutely. While candid and documentary photos are my passion I know first hand how important a posed photo with Grandma can be. For couples that have larger families or want a lot of posed family photos I will often suggest that they elect to have a first look. This provides ample time for couple portraits and allows for family photos to be done before the ceremony. That way once you say “I do” all the posing and wrangling is already over and you can go straight into enjoying your party!
With that said I accommodate many different wedding schedules which we can discuss more during our planning session. My role is to collaborate with you and give you coverage of YOUR day.
How do I book?
Start by visiting my contact page and reaching out! From there we will schedule a time to meet in person or virtually and talk about what you are wanting for your big day. Once you’ve decided I’m the right fit I will send you a contract to sign and you will send me a non-refundable deposit to hold your date. The remainder of your payment is due one month before your wedding. I recommend couples inquire for wedding dates at least 6 months in advance for the best opportunity of getting your date. However, even if its last minute feel free to reach out, you never know if there is an opening in my schedule!
Do you travel?
Yes, let’s have an adventure! I am currently based out of Southeast/Mid Michigan but I am more than happy to travel for your big day. Travel costs are factored into pricing quotes so you don’t have to worry about any additional fees.
Cancellations and Rescheduling?
If you have already booked and want to change your date reach out! If I still have the date available and it is within the same calendar year as your previous date I am happy to move it without charge. If you are changing your date to the following calendar year I require an additional deposit for that date. If you are moving your date and I do not have it available your deposit is non-refundable.
What happens if you can’t make it on our big day?
While this is very unlikely, if a true emergency (illness, accident, death, etc) came up and I was unable to be there. I would do my best to work with you and find a replacement who is true to my style. In some cases I could still provide my editing, depending on the emergency. If I am unable to make your wedding and we do not find a replacement you will be refunded. This is all laid out in my contract which we go over together.
